Towards Zero Trailer: BBC's New Agatha Christie Series Assembles A Starry Cast & An Inspector Who Seems Out Of His Depth

The official trailer for the BBC's latest murder-mystery show, Towards Zero, has been released. An adaptation of the 1944 novel by the best-selling detective novelist Agatha Christie, the three-part series follows British tennis star Nevile Strange (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), who reunites with his ex-wife Audrey (Ella Lily Hyland) for the summer at the English coastal estate of Nevile's aunt, Lady Tressilian (Anjelica Huston). Surrounding them are an eclectic cast of characters—Nevile’s new wife (Mimi Keene), an embittered cousin, a French conman, a sharp-tongued orphan, a family lawyer, and a valet with secrets of his own.

Now, the BBC has revealed the official trailer of Towards Zero, promising a summer full of passion, power, and secrets. As a volatile love triangle meets Gull Point's leading matriarch, a gathering of friends and family becomes fraught with hidden rivalries—and murder. Towards Zero will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer on March 2. Watch the full trailer below:

The BBC's Towards Zero follows a long line of successful Agatha Christie adaptations. The three-part murder-mystery will be produced by Mammoth Screen, which previously adapted Christie's 1939 novel Murder Is Easy in 2023 with David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus) leading as a Nigerian attaché embroiled in a murder. The cast of Towards Zero features award-winning actor Anjelica Huston, who is no stranger to portraying a formidable matriarch as seen in her role as Morticia in the Addams Family films, and in her performance in Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums.

Huston is joined by Jackson-Cohen as her playboy nephew and Sex Education's Mimi Keene as his new wife. Jackson-Cohen made a name for himself in the horror genre with Netflix's miniseriesThe Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor. Matthew Rhys will portray Inspector Leach, a detective assigned to the murder case at Lady Tressilian's estate. Known for his Emmy-winning turn in the spy drama series The Americans and as the titular lawyer of Perry Mason, Rhys is sure to bring his investigative wit to Towards Zero, though he hardly looks calm and collected in the trailer.

The trailer for BBC's Towards Zero shows a lush house party simmering with sun-kissed resentment. With its sweeping coastal vistas and an air of barely concealed tension lurking behind every perfectly arranged parlor, the series looks poised to deliver a glamorous yet sinister murder-mystery. With Hollywood veteran Huston commanding her estate as Lady Tressilian and Rhys bringing his sharp, world-weary gravitas to Inspector Leach, Towards Zeroappears well-equipped to elevate Christie's classic whodunit novels into a whirlwind of jealousy, betrayal, and secrets.
