Honkai Star Rail 3.2 Leaks: Castorice's New Ability Hints At How Strong Her HP Drain May Be

A new ability used by Castorice in Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 has leaked and it may indicate just how strong her rumored HP drain mechanic will actually be if it proves to be true. Castorice is one of the many Chrysos Heirs from Amphoreus, and she has already been introduced as an NPC in the main story quests. The character, who is a servant to Thanatos and prophesied to become the bearer of the Coreflame of Death, has only shown her powers through some interactions but leaks about Castorice’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail have teased how she may work.

These early leaks say that the Amphoreus character will have a 5-star rating and use Quantum DMG in battle, while following the Path of the Remembrance – which means she will likely be able to summon a memosprite. According to these leaks, this memosprite is the dragon-like entity that first appeared with her in the teaser trailer revealing the Amphoreus characters. Furthermore, the leaks also say that Castorice will be able to drain HP from her allies and that she will get more powerful the lower her HP, indicating she will be an HP loss character in Honkai: Star Rail.

New Leaks Say Castorice Can Revive Allies In Honkai: Star Rail

If The Leaks Are True, Castorice Will Be Unique

Even though HP loss is mentioned in nearly every leak about Castorice’s gameplay kit, a new rumor has emerged, indicating that the Amphoreus character will have another ability – one that may indicate just how punitive her HP loss actually is. According to information provided by the leaker known as Galaxy Leak, Castorice may have an ability that revives allies in battle, and each ally can allegedly be revived once per battle. The leak was shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” on Reddit, along with other information, such as rumored details about Castorice’s unique feature in Honkai: Star Rail.

The leak shared on Reddit shows questions for the leaker, and one of the queries probes if Castorice has a revival count that she can share amongst all allies or if each ally can be revived once, to which Galaxy Leak answered that each unit gets one revive when they are running alongside Castorice in a team comp. The ability to revive all allies would be new, as revival mechanics have been extremely limited in the past; Bailu (at Eidolon level 0) can revive one ally per battle, while Gepard can revive himself should he fall in Honkai: Star Rail.

Bailu can revive twice per battle once she reaches E6.

Castorice’s Wide-Encompassing Revival May Mean Her Rumored HP Drain In Honkai: Star Rail Is Intense

The Rumored Mechanic Could Be A Way Of Compensating For The HP Drain

If the leak is accurate, the wide-encompassing revivals in Castorice’s kit may be indicative of how strong her HP drain is. If she is capable of reviving all allies once per battle, the amount of HP she takes away from them may be a lot larger than what happens with other HP drain characters, such as Jingliu. While Jingliu takes some HP away from allies with each of her special attacks, the amount she drains is not too detrimental, and it can be mitigated by a group-wide heal, such as one provided by Natasha or Luocha in Honkai: Star Rail.

Although any HP loss is, arguably, a risky maneuver, Jingliu’s HP drain isn’t one that puts her allies in a complicated situation, lest they already are short on HP due to the natural flow of the battle. Castorice, however, may be much more violent when it comes to her HP drain mechanics, and a lot of the previous leaks, combined with the new ones, show this. The early leaks say that Castorice will be able to drain her allies’ HP once she enters battle or starts her turn in Honkai: Star Rail, which already shows how aggressive this may be.

Furthermore, the other leaks say that she can enhance her power based on how low HP is – the leak doesn’t specify whether or not this power enhancement takes into consideration Castorice’s HP alone or if it registers how much HP has been lost across the entire team comp. If it’s the former, the HP drain shouldn’t make her stronger, but possibly be a consequence of how strong she naturally is, whereas the latter could be a great way of making Castorice even stronger in Honkai: Star Rail.

Overall, it seems like the rumored HP drain will be central to Castorice’s kit and, if the leaks are true, the revival mechanics spread across the entire team should be a way of compensating just how much HP she will take away from her allies. It’s worth noting that a lot of the leaks about Castorice so far have been conflicting and incomplete, so they should be considered with caution as a lot may prove to either be incorrect or subject to change during the Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 beta tests if she is scheduled for release during the patch.

HP Loss May Be At The Forefront Of Honkai: Star Rail In 2025

Mydei Also Loses HP In The Game

If the leaks about Castorice’s HP drain (and even revival mechanics) are accurate, it should be further proof that developer HoYoverse is putting HP loss at the center of the gameplay mechanics and meta this year. While none of the new characters from Version 3.0, namely The Herta, Aglaea, and the Remembrance Trailblazer, use any HP mechanics, the leaks about Tribbie and Mydei in Honkai: Star Rail 3.1 indicate that both units will scale off of HP and, while Tribbie is rumored to not lose HP, per si, Mydei will allegedly consume his own HP to empower his offensive skills.

Furthermore, if Castorice drains HP and consumes her own HP in battle, she will likely have a high Max HP and, thus, be compatible with a rumored Ornament set called Bone Collection’s Serene Demesne, according to Honey Hunter World. According to the leak, this Ornament set increases the user’s Max HP and increases the user’s and the memosprite’s CRIT DMG if their Max HP is over 5,000 points. Additionally, there’s been a leak about Pure Fiction in Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 that says a new buff rewarding HP loss may be underway.

This update may coincide with the release of Castorice since she is also rumored for Version 3.2.

For now, all leaks should be taken with a grain of salt. The leaks should become more reliable with the start of the Version 3.2 beta tests within a few weeks, as leakers start to test and reveal exactly how the rumored new playable character will work, but Castorice is truly building up to be a one-of-a-kind character in Honkai: Star Rail, especially if she can revive all allies in battle.
