Several Major Titles Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass In Just A Few Short Weeks

As February 2025 crosses the halfway mark, Xbox Game Passhas some disappointing news for subscribers. While the subscription service braces for the launch of Obsidian Entertainment's highly-anticipated RPG Avowed​​​​​​, those interested in the platform's older games may want to prioritize some of the titles scheduled to leave before the month ends. While Microsoft will replace the lost games in due time, there's no telling if they'll ever make a return.

Per Xbox, Game Pass is losing nine games on February 28:

• Gris
• Maneater
• PAW Patrol World
• Space Engineers
• Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun
• Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
• Yakuza 3 Remastered
• Yakuza 4 Remastered
• F1 22

While most of the listed titles have been on Xbox Game Pass for around a year, the two that stand out are the Yakuzagames. Both have been available on the service for over four years, so their sudden removal does seem odd, especially when the other installments will continue to be playable.

Players May Need To Hustle

The collection of games departing on February 28 consists of several critically acclaimed titles that interested players should try before they're gone. Both Yakuza 3 Remastered and Yakuza 4 Remastered are excellent beat-em-ups with stories that swing wildly between emotional drama and slapstick humor; The serious moments are balanced out by some excellent comedy, the kind of which isn't really found in any other series. Those looking for something more mechanically dense should check out Wo Long, which boasts fantastic combat that's not constantly interrupted by long cutscenes.

Similarly, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is a fast, violent, old-school shooter loaded with massive guns and hordes of enemies looking to stop the onslaught of Space Marine Malum Caedo. Maneater may have been critically divisive but the visceral open-world game starring a constantly evolving shark has garnered a cult following thanks to its unique premise and over-the-top fun. Parents wanting to sit down and play a game with the young ones will want to try PAW Patrol World before it leaves Game Pass as the service doesn't boast much else in the way of child-friendly experiences.

As Xbox Game Pass subscribers prepare to say farewell, it's worth recalling that the service is welcoming several new titles in 2025. My most anticipated is undoubtedly Avowed, which looks like the kind of deep RPG I've come to expect from Obsidian, but I'm also incredibly eager to play Doom: The Dark Ageswhen that arrives on May 15. Other upcoming releases include the stylish Atomfall in March and the equally interesting South by Midnight, which will be available for Ultimate subscribers on April 8.
