1000-lb Sisters star Amanda Halterman is no shrinking violet, and an unwitting troll recently felt the full force of her wrath. Amanda, a 44-year-old bus driver and mother of four, appears on the reality series alongside her close-knit family. The show is more about her younger sisters, 38-year-old Tammy Slaton and 37-year-old Amy Slaton, but several other Slatons appear in the series, including Amanda.
Amanda didn't even appear on the show during the first few seasons, but became a fan favorite during 1000-lb Sisters season 6. She got more screen time than ever before and is coming into her own alongside her more famous sisters. The Slatons are very family-oriented, and that goes double for Amanda. She recently hit back at an online troll who made the mistake of insulting Amanda's sisters.

The Slatons live in Kentucky, and they're a very close-knit bunch who do everything together. Not only do they spend all their free time together, but they also lose weight together. All five Slaton siblings have had bariatric surgery and lost significant amounts of weight since the premiere of 1000-lb Sisters season 6. For her part, Amanda had revision bariatric surgery in March 2023, and lost some weight, but hit a plateau after a knee injury sidelined her.

Being a close-knit family can be great, but it can also come with downsides. Amanda and Tammy nearly came to blows during 1000-lb Sisters season 6. Tammy was living in a house owned by Amanda, and she accused her of being a bad homeowner. The two fought during a family meeting, and Tammy stormed out angrily. Tammy said that Amanda was dead to her, and the two didn't speak for months. Ultimately, Amy brought the sisters together for a family dinner and insisted they make up.

Amanda may fight with her family, but that doesn't mean the 1000-lb Sistersseason 6 star will let anyone else start fights with her sisters. Amanda recently posted an Instagram Q & A where she hit back at an online troll who had criticized her sister and called her a clown. Amanda made it clear she wouldn't tolerate anyone insulting her family.
