One Piece Chapter #1142 Release Date and Time

One PieceChapter #1142is set to release in the next issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump without any breaks, which is great news for fans eager to see Elbaph's most thrilling character in action. Since Loki's introduction in this arc, he has sparked immense curiosity, from speculation about his true strength to his potential role as a villain. Whereas, the latest chapter has only intensified the excitement by confirming the existence of his deadly weapon.

One Piece Chapter #1141 reveals that Loki's weapon, Ragnir, is a clear homage to Norse mythology, symbolically representing Thor's legendary hammer, Mjölnir. Its design and name strongly allude to the destructive power of the mythological weapon, further cementing One Piece’s deep inspiration from Norse legends. With Thor and Loki being some of the most fascinating figures in this mythology, each embodying both good and evil in different tales, it's exciting to see how One Piece will interpret their dynamic. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait long for the next chapter to unravel more of Loki’s chaos.

What Happened in One Piece Chapter #1141?

Loki Is Free and Ready to Rampage

One Piece Chapter #1141, titled "An Older Woman," begins with Nami and Rodo sailing back to the feast, carrying the two unconscious giants. While Rodo remains focused, Nami expresses her frustration over not finding any treasure. The scene then shifts to Franky and Ripley, where Ripley reveals the structural layout of Elbaph, explaining that the island is built around the Adam Tree, making it highly vulnerable to fire and lightning. Switching perspectives again, the chapter follows a drunken Usopp as he jokingly asks Chief Jarul what type of woman he likes.

In a comedic turn, Jarul replies that he prefers older women, prompting Usopp to hit the sword stuck in his head, playfully arguing that it’s impossible since Jarul is the oldest person in the world. As Usopp and others' drunken antics continue, Gerd confronts Rodo about his suspicious behavior near the King's Castle. Though Rodo initially avoids answering, his reluctance only fuels Gerd’s suspicions, leading her to take action to force the truth out of him. The chapter then shifts once more, showing Luffy and Zoro reaching the Underworld, where they find Loki in a near-death state.

One Piece's collaboration with the Los Angeles Lakers team might have given fans an idea for an amazing spin-off series.

Realizing that Loki is still breathing, Luffy immediately attempts to free him despite Zoro’s warnings, however, he is unable to because of the sea prism stones. This leads to an argument between Luffy and Zoro, with Luffy insisting on freeing Loki, while Zoro urges caution. To test Loki’s condition, Zoro kicks him, only for Loki to pass out from the pain. Eventually, they decide to free him but leave one leg bound by the sea prism stone, just as they notice someone approaching from the sky.

The newcomers are revealed to be the New Giant Warrior Pirates, who brace for their imminent demise as they plummet from the sky. However, Luffy saves them by inflating into a balloon, cushioning their fall. As soon as they land safely, the warriors desperately plead with Luffy not to release Loki, warning him of the dangers he poses. But it's too late as Zoro has already freed him and as the chapter ends, Loki rises to his feet, gripping his weapon, Ragnir, while Hajrudin desperately begs him to put his weapon down.

One Piece May Have Revealed the True Reason Loki is Feared Across the Land of theGiants

The latest One Piece chapter is a fantastic installment, deepening the lore of the new arc while seamlessly blending in humor. However, the chapter's most intriguing detail lies in Ripley and Franky's conversation, which unveils Elbaph's greatest weakness: fire and lightning. This revelation becomes even more significant as the chapter also introduces Loki's weapon, Ragnir, whose Kanji translation means "Iron and Thunder."

This directly links Ragnir to Thor’s legendary Mjölnir, making it an exceptionally dangerous weapon in One Piece and Elbaph, a land highly vulnerable to its properties. It also explains why Loki sees himself as the "World’s Destructor," as he wields a weapon capable of obliterating the entire island. This is further reinforced by Hajrudin’s immediate reaction upon seeing Loki rise, begging Loki to put the weapon down, which might suggest that the giants fear Ragnir itself more than they fear Loki.
