A New Predator Is Here, And the Alien Might Be the Franchise's Gnarliest Yet
Spider-Man will be taking on the Predator later this year, but the Yautja that Peter Parker is up against looks to be an entirely new character. Known as “Skinner,” advanced imagery for Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 shows a new version of the famed alien hunter that looks to live up to the brutal nature of his name…
Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 – written by Benjamin Percy, with art by Marcelo Ferreira – features the first official meeting between the Friendly Neighborhood Webslinger and the most dangerous hunter in the galaxy.
Readers get their first glimpse of the Predator known as “Skinner” in Marvel's advanced preview, where the Yautja earns his name by holding up a severed face to look through. Seeing the Predator’s brutal methods in action, the hunter should be the greatest challenge in Spider-Man’s superhero career.
Peter Parker's Battle With The Infamous YautjaIs Already Shaping Up To Be A Battle For The Ages
Predator Vs. Spider-Man #1 – Written By Benjamin Percy; Art By Marcelo Ferreira; Available April 23, 2025 From Marvel Comics
Spider-Man has ample experience dealing with aliens, as his various battles against Venom, Carnage and the other symbiotes attest. He also familiar with with those who stalk the most dangerous game, as Kraven is often considered the greatest hunter on the planet. But the Predators are another beast entirely, as their advanced weaponry and massive physique makes them a formidable foe in any environment. Parker’s Spidey-sense should at least allow the wall-crawler to bypass the Yautja’s camouflage technology that allows them to blend in with their surroundings, but that’s merely the first hurdle Spidey will face in battling the Predator.
Predator vs. Spider-Man will likely deliver its own surprising twists on Predator lore, which could only happen in the Marvel Universe, hopefully leading to even more unforgettable moments in the upcoming miniseries.
The Predators have already faced off against Wolverine and Black Panther in previous miniseries, and gave each hero a run for their money. Predator vs Wolverine actually revealed that it was the Predator’s distinctive mask that was the inspiration for Wolverine’s Weapon X helmet, and Predator vs Black Panther featured a cyborg Yautja adding vibranium weaponry to his arsenal. Predator vs. Spider-Man will likely deliver its own surprising twists on Predator lore, which could only happen in the Marvel Universe, hopefully leading to even more unforgettable moments in the upcoming miniseries.

The synopsis for Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 makes it clear that Peter Parker is up against an even more dangerous Yautja than usual. It reads:
TARGET: SPIDER-MAN IN PREDATOR’S GRITTIEST SERIES YET! In Predator vs. Wolverine, we saw a single Predator stalk Earth’s greatest prey, the killing machine Wolverine. In Predator vs. Black Panther, Yautja invaded Wakanda and nearly dethroned its king. Now Ben Percy turns his twisted brain to Marvel’s most beloved property: Spider-Man! A heat wave sends NYC into a blackout and Spider-Man on patrol as tempers boil across the city. But beneath its grimy sewers and subways lurks a threat unlike anything Peter Parker has faced before. Introducing “Skinner,” a Predator of no honor and no clan — only a thirst for blood. Exquisitely rendered by superstar artist Marcelo Ferreira!
"A Predator of no honor and no clan," is an ominous portent for the Wallcrawler, as fans of the Predator franchise will recognize. Given that the Yautja are generally depicted as adhering to a code of honor when facing off against their prey, it looks like Spider-Man might have drawn the short straw amidst all these crossover series.
There are few beings in the Marvel Universe – or, more generally, in the canon of sci-fi film and literature – more deadly than the Yautja, even those who maintain a strict sense of honor. A Predator without a code is perhaps the most dangerous creature in existence; there will be nothing holding "Skinner" back, making it far from guaranteed that Spider-Man will prevail as he battles the Predator, in Marvel's latest thrilling, instantly-iconic match-up between its heroes and one of cinema's greatest monsters.
Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 will be available April 23, 2025 from Marvel Comics.
