Single Drunk Female Cast & Character Guide: Where You've Seen The Actors Before

The critically acclaimed and criminally short-lived dramedy series, Single Drunk Female, owes much of its value to a stellar cast of memorable characters. Though it was canceled after just two seasons, the show has luckily found new life on streaming, giving viewers a chance to check out this thoughtful and compelling series about a young millennial recovering from alcoholism.

Single Drunk Female follows the story of Samantha Fink, a writer who hits rock bottom when she gets arrested for drunk driving, and finally comes to accept that she has an addiction and is in need of recovery. In an effort to turn her life around, Sam faces a whole new set of challenges that test her sobriety as she picks up the pieces of her broken relationships. Featuring an ensemble cast, the show includes a lineup of talented actors that viewers have likely seen before.

Sofia Black-D’Elia As Samantha Fink

Date Of Birth: December 24, 1991

Actor:Sofia Black-D’Elia made her TV debut in 2009 in the popular soap All My Children as Bailey Wells. The actress also appeared in the final season of Gossip Girl, playing Sage Spence, the on-again, off-again girlfriend of Nate Archibald. She would later appear as Sabrina Pemberton in the TV series The Mick, and in the first season of the crime thriller Your Honor, as Frannie Latimer. Most recently, she appeared in the 2024 indie romcom I Love You Forever as Mackenzie.

Character:Black-D’Elia stars in Single Drunk Female as Samantha Fink, a 28-year-old alcoholic who gets a rude awakening when she is fired from her job for coming to work drunk. As she reluctantly begins her rehabilitation, Sam comes to realize how she has hurt the people around her, and decides to make an effort to change her life for the better.

Sasha Compère As Brit Monclair

Actor:Sasha Compère’s career began in 2011 when she appeared in an episode of the educational series The Electric Company. She went on to have supporting roles in several TV shows, including Rizzoli & Isles, Community, and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Compère made her film debut as Female Team Member in the 2019 sci-fi Ad Astra, and had a regular role in the TV series The Dead Girls Detective Agency as Ali Esser. She played the shy and introverted Laura in season 1 of Miracle Workers, and plays Tasha in the 2024 indie drama, Dreams in Nightmares.

Character:Brit Monclair is Samantha Fink’s ex-best friend, and is engaged to Samantha’s ex-boyfriend, Joel. Things are clearly awkward between the two as they try to mend their friendship, but in time they come to reach a mutual understanding and grow closer together. When Brit realizes that she made a huge mistake marrying Joel, Sam is the one she runs to for comfort.

Lily Mae Harrington As Felicia O’Brien

Actor:Singer-songwriter Lily Mae Harrington won fourth place in the second season of The Glee Project, which helped kickstart her acting career. After a minor role in the 2016 film Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, Harrington played Adeline in the musical satire series Sing It! She went on to make appearances in TV shows like The Rookie and Station 19 before landing her role Single Drunk Female, and played a firefighter in 2023’s Good Burger 2.

Character:As Samantha’s current best friend, Felicia O’Brien is a force of nature who is always looking for a good time. At first, Felicia hinders Samantha’s rehabilitation by taking her out drinking, but in time comes to respect Sam’s decision and supports her in recovery.

Garrick Bernard As James Chambers

Actor:As an actor, a comedian, and a writer, Garrick Bernard is a triple threat. Before joining the cast of Single Drunk Female, Bernard appeared in the TV series Quinta vs. Everything, and had a guest role in an episode of Comedy Central’s Road to Hollygrove. He loaned his voice to three episodes of the animated comedy Krapopolis, and his writer credits include Solar Opposites and Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Character: Samantha first met James Chambers at her favorite bar one Thanksgiving, but she doesn’t remember when she runs into him at her first AA meeting. Also a recovering alcoholic, James becomes Sam’s love interest in season 1, but after falling off the wagon in the season finale, Sam decides to break it off with him.

Ally Sheedy As Carol Fink

Actor:Best known by Gen-Xers as a member of the Brat Pack, Ally Sheedy starred in iconic 1980s movies like The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo’s Fire, and Short Circuit. Sheedy’s career steadily continued in the ‘90s and 2000s with several TV appearances and indie films, including her role as the serial killer Mr. Yang in Psych. Most recently, she appeared in an episode of the CW series Wild Cards as Rose Pruett.

Character:Sheedy plays Carol Fink, Samantha’s mother, in Single Drunk Female. After getting arrested for drunk driving, Carol takes Samantha into her home to stay for a while as she recovers from her alcoholism. Although she does occasionally give Sam a hard time, Carol is ultimately a loving and caring mom who does her best to support her daughter.

Ian Gomez As Bob

Actor:Character actor Ian Gomez has over 100 acting credits to his name on IMDb, and there’s a good chance viewers will recognize him from at least one of his many roles. Gomez played Danny Sanchez on the comedy TV series Norm from 1999 to 2001, and had a recurring role on the TV drama Felicity as Javier. Some of his other regular TV roles include Larry Almada on The Drew Carey Show, Andy Torres in Cougar Town, and Greg in The Morning Show. Gomez also appeared in My Big Fat Greek Wedding and My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 as Mike.

Character: Bob is Carol Fink’s boyfriend in Single Drunk Female, an affable, though a bit awkward guy who hangs around the house a bit too often for Sam’s liking. Even though he has trouble relating to Sam, he still cares deeply for her and treats her mom like a queen, so it’s tough for Sam not to like him.

Rebecca Henderson as Olivia Elliot: Olivia is Sam's AA sponsor in Single Drunk Female. Fans of the Netflix original series Russian Doll may recognize Henderson as Lizzy, the best friend of Maxine and Nadia.

Charlie Hall as Joel: Sam’s ex and Brit’s fiancé, Joel is not the smartest Single Drunk Female character, but he's a sweet guy who unfortunately has bad luck in the romance department. Joel actor Charlie Hall is known for playing Andrew in The Sex Lives of College Girls and Craig Cignarelli in Monsters.

Jojo Brown as Mindy: Appearing in Single Drunk Female season 1, Mindy is a fellow alcoholic who manages Giovanni’s grocery store and gives Sam a job. Jojo Brown doesn't have many acting credits to her name, though she does appear in one episode of Billions as Kara.

Jon Glaser as Nathaniel: Nathaniel is Sam’s former (and later new) boss. Jon Glaser is most famous for playing obnoxious Councilman Jeremy Jamm from Parks & Recreation, as well as being a series regular from Light Night With Conan O’Brien.

Ricky Velez as Alex: Alex is Sam's love interest in Single Drunk Female season 2. Ricky Velez is a stand-up comedian, writer, and actor who appeared alongside Pete Davidson in The King of Staten Island as Oscar.
