MANILA – Australians D’Artagnan Potts and Jack Pearse seek another title in the forthcoming Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour (BPT) Challenge.

The 2024 Asian Seniors Beach Volleyball champions, however, are expected to face a tougher challenge with teams from across the globe entering the Nov. 28 to Dec. 1 event at the Nuvali Sand Courts by Ayala Land in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

Powerhouse Poland, France, Italy, Brazil, the US, and Germany, as well as perennial Asian contenders Japan and Thailand, are joining the tournament offering ranking points toward the Elite16 of the BPT.

A total of 48 teams – 24 in both men's and women’s divisions – will battle it out for honors, with a USD75,000 pot at stake in each division.

The teams will be divided into six pools of four teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the knockout stage.

The Philippines has three pairs in the men’s division and two in the women’s division of the competition hosted by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation headed by Ramon "Tats" Suzara, who also serves as Asian Volleyball Confederation president.

Ran Abdilla teams up with Lerry John Francisco, James Buytrago joins Rancel Varga, and Ronniel Rosales plays with Edwin Tolentino, while on the women's side are Kly Orillaneda and Gen Eslapor, along with Alexa Polidario and Jen Gaviola. (PNA)
