Who Invincible's Strongest Character On Earth Was Before Omni-Man
There's no doubt that JK Simmons' Omni-Man is the most powerful Invincible character to have visited Earth, but the subject of who was the most fearsome being before his arrival is a matter of some debate. However, there's only one real answer. Omni-Man's immense power is so prominent that it's not one of the things viewers will need to remember ahead of Invincible season 3. Instead, his displays of dominance are likely to be etched into the minds of fans forever more.
Although Simmons' character will have a different role in Invincible season 3's story compared to his debut back in 2021, it's important to remember Omni-Man's history and main competitors. Still, he remains at the top of the list of the most powerful Invincible characters within the Amazon show's canon. This fact has been an advantage and a main threat to the story's heroes (and sometimes villains) so far, but there was a time when the title of Earth's mightiest superbeing was held by someone else.
The Immortal Was Earth's Top Hero Before Omni-Man Arrived

Certain powers aside, Omni-Man is essentially a beat-for-beat homage to Superman. So, it's tough to see how anyone could even come close to that level of power. While no one has surpassed Simmons' character in terms of brute force, Ross Marquand's the Immortal was at the top of Earth's hero rankings before Omni-Man came to the human homeworld. As a kind of nerfed blend of Superman and Wolverine, it's easy to see how the Immortal held such a position.
The Immortal's true age and origin story have yet to be revealed in Invincible but he has at least been confirmed to be over 1,000 years old. He also began life as an ordinary human being. As such, he was on Earth for centuries before Omni-Man arrived. Similarly, Omni-Man lived a very long life on Viltrum before heading to Earth to prepare it for domination by his people. Omni-Man's age in Invincible has been kept just as vague as the Immortal's, but both men are very, very old by conventional human standards.

Omni-Man has won all of his fights with the Immortal in Invincible so far. However, the Immortal has put up with a lot of physical punishment from the Viltrumite, and he also has a brilliant healing factor to fall back on. They're both equally agile in the air due to their shared ability to fly. Unfortunately, Omni-Man has been consistently able to hurt the Immortal in ways that were far more extreme than the other way around. However, it's almost impossible for the Immortal to be permanently killed, whereas Omni-Man can meet his end forever in Invincible canon.
