Wednesday Season 2’s Tease Means The Show Can Finally Explain What Really Happened To Tyler’s Mom At Willow Hill

Netflix recently released the briefest of teasers for Wednesdayseason 2, and in just a few shots, the series confirmed that Tyler would return in season 2 and that his past will play a role in the upcoming installment. In Wednesday season 1, Tyler was introduced as a kind and compassionate teenager who lived in Jericho and befriended Wednesday. Although the pair's friendship seemed to verge into something closer to romance, everything came crashing down when Tyler was revealed to be the Hyde, controlled by Marilyn Thornhill. Now, it seems that Tyler's story isn't over just yet.

Overall, the Wednesday season 2 teaser only provided about three or four shots from the new season. First, audiences see the outside of Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital. Then, Tyler is shown being held in chains. Finally, Wednesday enters the room, presumably to speak to Tyler about a new mystery at play. Based on these images, audiences can create quite a few theories as to how Tyler will come into play in season 2, especially after considering what is already known about him from season 1.

Tyler Being Held At Willow Hill Could Uncover More About His Mother In Wednesday Season 2

Why Mrs. Galpin Could Be Important To Wednesday

After being presented the image of Willow Hill, it seems inevitable that Wednesday season 2 will offer more information about Tyler, his Hyde abilities, and his mother. In the first season, it became clear that, although Tyler was behind the Nevermore murders, he had no control over his actions and was being manipulated by Thornhill. Furthermore, viewers learn that Tyler inherited his Hyde identity from his mother, who was sent away to Willow Hill when her abilities became out of control. If season 2 brings Wednesday to Willow Hill, then Tyler's mother will almost certainly come up.

Initially, Mrs. Galpin doesn't seem like she could be that important to Wednesday's story. As far as audiences know, she is dead with no chance of coming back. Yet, Wednesday also reveals that Tyler's mom attended Nevermore as a teenager, This could end up being the key to whatever new mystery is at stake in season 2. Even if Mrs. Galpin is dead, her time at Nevermore could point to important information, or it could help Tyler be released from Willow Hill and enrolled at Nevermore. Of course, she could also have been alive all along.

Ultimately, the character most affected by Mrs. Galpin's story is Tyler. Now that he has followed in his mother's footsteps, so to speak, it is vital to figure out what happened to her and how she died. It is certainly possible that her death was caused by Willow Hill, and if that's the case, then Tyler could be in big trouble. Plus, despite what Tyler did in season 1, Wednesday may feel like he deserves saving. In this way, viewers need to know more about Mrs. Galpin to be able to predict Tyler's fate.

It is good news that Tyler will be returning to Wednesday season 2 because he deserves a solid redemption arc. Despite the fact that Tyler was last season's villain, he is really more of a victim than anything else. He was manipulated by Thornhill just like everyone else. Additionally, he suffers from being an outcast without a community. Hopefully, this Wednesdayteaser is implying that Tyler will get the forgiveness he needs.
