The Moment In Silo Season 2 That Proved Solo Fully Trusted Juliette

It takes a while for Solo to warm up to Juliette in Silo season 2, but one moment in the finale episode serves as proof that he finally trusts her. Steve Zahn joined Silo's character list for season 2 in what turns out to be one of the most captivating figures in the Apple TV+ show. Initially thought to be the lone survivor of Silo 17's rebellion, Solo ends up being one of a handful of remaining citizens that Juliette encounters on her journey after going outside to "clean."
Silo season 2 reveals Solo is actually Jimmy Conroy, the former Head of IT's son who has been guarding Silo 17's vault since the rebellion decades prior. Aside from a run-in with fellow survivors, Solo has been notably isolated from other people for much of his life. Therefore, it makes sense why he has difficulty interacting with Juliette when she first arrives. Even when Solo gets to know Juliette better, he struggles with trusting her as an outsider. Then again, his own secrets affected the potential trust between them. The trust, however, is finally proven in Silo season 2's ending.

Solo Ended Up Making An Ally In Juliette
When Solo first encounters Juliette, he only talks to her through the vault door, refusing to interact with her face-to-face. Even when Zahn's character opens up more, he only makes gradual progress but still keeps his distance. Solo makes a good point about Juliette while putting his hand on her shoulder in the penultimate episode, acknowledging that she could've left before electing to resolve Silo 17's conflict. The trust between Solo and Juliette is finally proven Silo season 2's finale when the pair share a hug, which is surprisingly initiated by Solo.
The moment comes when Solo is helping Juliette put on the firefighter suit as she prepares to go back to her home silo. The two then share a very emotional conversation, with Solo asking whether Juliette plans to come back. Unable to fully make that promise, Solo and Juliette don't quite know what to say to each other since it might be a final goodbye. Either way, Solo proves how much she has changed him during her short time in Silo 17 by embracing her in a long hug.

Steve Zahn's Silo Character Has Come A Long Way
Solo and Juliette's hug might seem like a small moment compared to what else happens in Silo season 2's ending, but it's a significant detail when remembering how Solo acts when he first meets Juliette. Before Juliette comes along, the last time Solo came in contact with other survivors was when they broke into the vault and shot him.
Juliette teaches Solo that there are still people left in the world who are worth trusting.
The dead people outside of Solo's vault in Silo season 2 are a constant reminder of outside threats. Because of that, it makes a lot of sense why Solo experiences trust issues, especially when it comes to someone intimidatingly confident like Juliette. It also doesn't help that the fellow Silo 17 survivors attack and threaten to kill Solo shortly after he exits his vault, justifying his concerns about trusting others.
To go from not even wanting to leave the safety of his vault in isolation to allowing the others in to share his food and listen to music marks a drastically different version of Solo from when he is introduced in Silo season 2. More than anything, Juliette teaches Solo that there are still people left in the world who are worth trusting.
