"Take My Monies!": New Pokémon TCG Destined Rivals Artwork Is Both Good And Bad News For Team Rocket Fans

The booster pack cover art for the upcoming Pokémon Trading Card GameDestined Rivals set has been revealed, and it confirms that Team Rocket will feature prominently in the collection. The set is scheduled to release in May and new information has come in that's good news for Team Rocket fans but may be bad news for anyone hoping that Jessie and James would be featured among the new cards.

The Destined Rivals set was officially announced less than a week ago to much excitement from fans due to the popular characters it'll feature. Now, PokéBeach has revealed the artwork from the set's booster packs, which is focused largely on Team Rocket. The booster pack designs also re-confirm that Cynthia's Garchomp, Team Rocket's Mewtwo, several iconic Team Rocket Pokémon like Weezing and Ekans, and Ethan's Ho-oh will also be arriving in the upcoming expansion.

The Set Will Combine Heat Wave Arena And The Glory Of Team Rocket

Until now, all that had been confirmed about the set was its name and the fact that it would be the tenth in the Scarlet & Violet international English-language sets. It was speculated that Destined Rivals would include cards from the Heat Wave Area and The Glory of Team Rocket sets from Japan, with Team Rocket's Mewtwo along with a number of other popular trainers from previous titles making an appearance. However, not much had been officially confirmed about the upcoming set until now.

Now that the booster pack cards have been revealed, there's no longer any question of whether Team Rocket will be bringing fans a blast from the past. Fans are ecstatic about the news, as the popular group of baddies hasn't gotten its own TCG spotlight since Jessie and James made a cameo in the 2019 Hidden Fates set and all the way back in 2000 before that. "Take my moniessss," exclaims PokéBeach user Whitechalk91, while Alex Hesketh proclaims that the set is "MY DREAM CAME TRUEE."

The Team's Most Well-Known Members Are Suspiciously Missing From The Art

While the appearance of the iconic franchise bad-guy corporation is great news for any Team Rocket fans, it may also reveal that the most famous members of Team Rocket, Jessie and James, will not show up in the set after all. If the most well-known members of Team Rocket were going to appear, many fans believe they would have been heavily featured in the booster pack art, especially alongside the Pokémon most closely associated with them.

That doesn't mean it's impossible, of course, as more information is yet to be revealed about the Destined Rivals set from Pokémon Trading Card Game. The Destined Rivals set is scheduled to release on May 30 and will be available to preprder from May 17 through May 25.
