Through her Substack, Absolute Wonder Woman writer Kelly Thompson has shared a sneak peek of the upcoming Absolute Wonder Woman #6, set to release on March 26, 2025. With issue #5 recently claiming the top spot as the best-selling comic of the week—surpassing Marvel’s top-selling Ultimate Spider-Man #5—this preview is sure to catch fans’ attention.

The sneak peek features two dialogue-free panels, highlighting a major artistic shift as Mattia De Iulis takes over from Hayden Sherman, who illustrated the first five issues. The two panels shared by Thompson can be seen above and below.

Thompson’s Substack post shared two up-close panels featuring Diana—one depicting her in full armor as she removes her helmet and the other showing her stripped down as she scales a treacherous mountain cliff. Both panels carry an intensity and building suspense that heighten anticipation for the issue, teasing a high-stakes narrative that will undoubtedly put Diana’s mettle to the test. As previously mentioned, the lead artist for this issue—and the next—will be De Iulis rather than Sherman. However, fans of Sherman shouldn’t worry, as he will be returning to the comic.

Thompson addressed the artist change-up in her post, acknowledging that many fans are deeply attached to Sherman’s approach and style in the first arc of Absolute Wonder Woman. She confirmed that Sherman will return with issue #8 but, until then, De Iulis “is going to take us on a wild adventure into hell and it is… gorgeous (and also terrible, as you would expect).” With this statement from Thompson, there is no doubt that De Iulis’ work on the comic will be nothing short of phenomenal.
