Solo Leveling Season 2 will release episode #17, “This is What We’re Trained to Do," on Saturday, February 1, 2025. It will air first in Japan at 7:00 AM Pacific Time (PST) and international viewers can expect the episode to drop with English subtitles on the streaming platform Crunchyroll at 9:30 AM Pacific Standard Time (PST), 12:30 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST), and 5:30 PM Greenwich Mean Time. Solo Leveling season 2's English dubbing version presents a two-week delay compared with the subbed Japanese release. A Scene of Sung Jinwoo's Father was Cut in the Anime

Similar to the previous one, episode #16 of Solo Leveling Season 2 overlooks several scenes to adapt as many manhwa chapters as possible. Despite this, it was a faithful adaptation, as mostly the anime skipped the internal monologs of the characters and rephrased some dialogues to shorten them but still didn’t stray from the intention of the source material, like the added moment of Jinwoo deciding to get retested. Moreover, some scenes skipped in the anime are the thoughts of the Hunter's Association Chief in charge of the test and the hunter that was next to Jinwoo waiting to take the exam.

The hunter was rated a C-Rank, which means that he is able to pay his debt and be with his daughter, and his celebration was subtly included in the background. However, one scene that offers more background about Sung Il Hwan was cut from the anime, as when Dongsoo is asked if he is a monster, the American sub-director shows him camera footage of Il-Hwan rescuing civilians, proving that he is not ill-intended at all. This change is probably to create intrigue over Il-Hwan’s real intentions.

Although Solo Leveling season 2 skipped content that improved the characterization of Jinwoo and other hunters, these omitted scenes don’t change the story, like the thoughts of Woo Jin Chul acknowledging that Choi Jong In has a mischievous nature despite his gentle face, Jinwoo laughing to himself when he remembers that his previous nickname "Humanity's Weakest Weapon" was due to Choi Jong In's nickname "Humanity's Strongest Weapon," which also explains why he ignores him so adamantly, or how Jinchul ask Jinwoo if he defeated the boss in the double dungeon.

Furthermore, the changes are necessary in order to reach the upcoming arcs faster and close the season at one of the highest points of the series.
