One Piece Season 2: Loguetown Revealed As Luffy & Crew Celebrate Marine Victory Day In New Image As Filming Wraps
A new image has been revealed for One Pieceseason 2 as the end of filming is announced. One Piece originally debuted as a Japanese manga in 1997, and was steadily adapted into an anime series of the same name in 1999. Years later, Netflix adapted One Piece into a live-action series that began in 2023. One Piece features a leading cast including Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Vincent Regan, and Morgan Davies. After a successful run, One Piece was renewed for season 2, which is currently in development.
Now, Netflix has announced the conclusion of filming for One Piece season 2. The streamer announced this excitedly in a post that says "ONE PIECE SEASON 2 IS OFFICIALLY WRAPPED." In addition to sharing the filming completion, Netflix reveals a photo from season 2. The photo shows Luffy, surrounded by his crew. Luffy looks excited and banners behind him indicate that it is Marine Victory Day.
What This Means For One Piece Season 2
The Starting Location Has Been Clearly Confirmed
One Piece season 2 does not yet have a release date, but the conclusion of filming is certainly a good sign. While the season was renewed in 2023, the Hollywood strikes later that year delayed the production of season 2, causing an uncertain future. The conclusion of filming indicates that while One Piece may not be arriving immediately, there is still hope for season 2 to arrive before the end of the year.
In addition to the filming news, the One Piece update provides a look into the plot's future for season 2. The creators have confirmed that One Piece season 2 will be adapting part of the Arabasta saga from the original manga. In Luffy and his mates' swashbuckling season 2 adventures, the crew will travel from Loguetown to Reverse Mountain to Whisky Peak to Little Garden and, finally, to Drum Island. This initial image shows the team in Loguetown, thus additionally confirming this spot to be where One Piece season 2 kicks off.
Our Take On The One Piece Season 2 News
Netflix Has A Lot To Fit In This Year
While the conclusion of filming is good for the show's progress, Netflix has an incredibly busy slate for 2025. The streamer recently confirmed the late June release of Squid Game season 3, but that will be just one of the major series Netflix has coming down the pike. 2025 will also see the release of Stranger Things season 5 and Wednesday season 2. Netflix's likely desire to space apart these releases could risk kicking One Pieceseason 2 into 2026, especially given its past production delays.
