My Hero Academia May Be Over, But One of Its Artists Isn't Done With the Hero Course

My Hero Academia'smanga may be over as of August 5, 2024, but fans need not fret, because there is still a lot more to come from the beloved franchise. The creator of My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions, a spin-off of the official series, has just unveiled new artwork of one of the most intriguing heroes in the franchise.

Yoko Akiyama, My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions' artist, posted the stunning drawing on her X account, @akiyamayoco. The artwork is of Class 1-B's Neito Monoma, and it depicts the aspiring hero eight years in the future, where the epilogue to My Hero Academia is set.

My Hero Academia: Team-up Missions’ Creator Has Just Posted Art of Monoma

Yoko Akiyama Has Captured Monoma’s Personality Flawlessly in Her Stunning Artwork

Neito Monoma started out in My Hero Academia as an arrogant character who was desperate to show that he was better than the students of Class 1-A, but his efforts always fell short. However, as the series progressed, he underwent phenomenal character development and proved he has what it takes to be a real hero by using his bravery and Quirk to contribute to Shigaraki and All For One's defeat in the Final War. Akiyama's art depicts Monoma in the future, sitting with his hands clasped together gently and wearing a pair of white gloves, giving him an elegant, polished look.

Monoma's characteristic blond hair also appears in the drawing, but it is longer in this image than it was in his high school days. His bright blue eyes gaze forward pensively, and he appears to be lost in thought. Akiyama has captured Monoma's personality well, and the drawing perfectly summarizes how he has matured and grown in the eight years following the conclusion of My Hero Academia's Final War. My Hero Academia's final chapters and epilogue have yet to be animated, but Akiyama's art certainly gives fans something to look forward to as these new installments in the franchise rapidly approach.

My Hero Academia Has Many Spin-off Mangas for Fans To Enjoy

One Such Spin-Off, Vigilantes, Is Even Receiving Its Own Anime in 2025

Fans who are already missing My Hero Academia's manga should check out Akiyama's work, Team-Up Missions, to see their favorite characters embarking on new and thrilling missions alongside some of the series' best Pro Heroes. This spin-off manga ran from August 2019 to January 2025. The manga is the perfect accompaniment to the original series, introducing new heroes and expanding on the stories of familiar ones. Team-Up Missions is not the only My Hero Academia spin-off manga though. My Hero Academia:Vigilantes, another spin-off, has also grown popular and is even receiving an anime soon, which will tell a new story set in the same universe.

Vigilantes, as its title suggests, follows vigilante heroes who act of their own accord to save people and do not work with the Pro Heroes or formal hero society. The manga offers a different perspective of Deku's world, from the lens of these vigilante heroes who dedicate their lives to helping others. With both the Team-Up Missions manga and the Vigilantes manga, fans have plenty of My Hero Academia manga options to enjoy, even though the original series is no longer releasing chapters. The eighth and final anime season is on the way too, so now is a better time than ever to be a My Hero Academia fan.
