Another promising sign of how the film will perform on ScreenX is Mickey 17's largely positive first reviews after its premiere at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival. Currently situated at an 86% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, it may not be as high as Bong's Oscar-winning success with Parasite, which still holds a 99% from critics, but still indicates his return is well worth the wait. Combined with the recent acclaim Pattinson enjoyed from Matt Reeves' The Batman, the movie has a lot of goodwill riding in its favor.

A Welcome Return To The Format For Bong

While the movie itself marks the filmmaker's first movie since Parasite, it's actually interesting to note that Mickey 17 is Bong Joon-ho's first ScreenX release since 2013's Snowpiercer, and I think it's the perfect film for him to do so. The chaotic world of Niflheim already seems prime for the format, though presenting multiple versions of Pattinson on screen together is even more of a reason to find a local ScreenX screen and watch the dark comedy that way.
