Married At First Sight: Signs Karla Juarez Is Surprisingly Emerging As The Fan Favorite Amid Madison Myers & David Trimble Cheating Scandal
Married at First Sight season 18's Karla Juarez is surprisingly emerging as a fan favorite amid her reaction to the cheating scandal and couples swap that went down. Karla married Juan Franco as a stranger at the altar in the Chicago-based Married at First Sight season. 33-year-old Karla, a Hair Dresser, Pilates Instructor, and Sound Bath Healer, had an open heart coming into the eight-week-long experience. She named physical affection as an important relationship staple for her, and she didn't get that from Juan.
Juan, 36, is originally from Colombia, and shares Latino heritage with Karla, who is Mexican. Juan, a former model, is a Sales Representative for a scaffolding systems company, and also has his own start-up. The pair have shared a love of dancing, and have showcased their ability to have fun with one another. However, their differences have been stark, and Karla has faced criticism for her lifestyle and personality. However, Karla has become a likable cast member in the last part of the season due to her condemnation of Madison Myers and David Trimble's cheating scandal.
MAFS Fans Have Been Harping On Karla
Karla Didn't Have A Positive Fan Reception At First
Karla did not impress Married at First Sight viewers early on, as many found her to be overly whimsical and an opportunist. She showed her passive-aggressive side during the honeymoon, and the experts, Juan, and MAFS viewers didn't take well to it.
A Reddit thread by cantstandthemlms underscored how they were feeling about Karla leaving her job with little to no back-up plan in relation to how she came across in general.
"I had such a hard time taking her seriously when she was explaining what she’s going to do now that she left her job/was fired. It was like 726271 red flags. She does not seem super bright or motivated."
Another Redditor in the thread added to those sentiments.
"She is a ditz who flits through life and looks for opportunities."
However, as the season has evolved, Karla has shaken her negative perception, as she's taken a stand against Madison and David's cheating.
Karla's Reaction To Madison's Cheating Was Poignant
& MAFS Fans Are Here For It
During the group couples retreat, the cheating scandal broke. It turned out that Michelle Myers' husband, David, and Allen Slovick's wife, Madison, were carrying on a secret relationship, and Michelle got to the bottom of it. While Madison and David both lied to Michelle's face, they ended up coming clean to everyone after they professed their desire to start a relationship with each other.
When Madison spoke with Karla and Camille Parsons about the situation, Karla unleashed her thoughtful and real opinions to Madison about the ordeal. She called Madison's behavior "dirty" and "grimey," and let Madison know how much the situation was appalling and had consequences.
“At this place where I am in my life, I wouldn’t want to surround myself with women who step that boundary in a relationship.”
On Reddit, Karla had MAFS fans cheering for her forwardness and opinions. Due-Introduction781 started a thread that led to the comment, "Karla was the mvp on that! Everyone needs friends like Karla!!"
With Karla's take and vocalized thoughts on the situation, she won fans over and has shaken her poor reception, as viewers feel they misjudged her.

What Karla's Opinions & Fan Status Mean For Her Relationship With Juan
Karla Has Shown Her Maturity
While Karla is winning in public reception over the cheating scandal and her hot take, it may not mean much for her relationship with Juan at this point. Juan wasn't there to hear Karla's eloquent and pointed address to Madison, but he has seen more glimmers of her maturity as the experience has gone on. However, Karla's good qualities weren't enough to sway him to stay in the marriage as they ended things, but they do seem to have a respectful and adoring friendship coming out of Married at First Sight season 18.
Married At First Sight airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
