Is Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test On PC?
The Elden Ring Nightreign tests are set to start soon, but not all players know if the playtests will be available on PC since the majority of the official communication from developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco targeted console audiences. Nightreign is a new installment in the award-winning Elden Ring franchise, expected to be released later this year. The game is set in the same universe, but there are some major key differences in terms of game design and gameplay that will be seen in the Elden Ring Nightreign tests.
The most notable one, as presented during the game’s official trailer reveal, is that its main focus is on a multiplayer experience. While interested players will be able to tackle the game in a solo mode, the main attraction for Nightreign is its three-player coop mode, which puts the party against groups of enemies as they progress and gradually defeat bosses through semi-randomized map structures. Another of Elden Ring Nightreign’s features is enhanced mobility, which should permit players to climb, jump over walls, and fly – which is a huge step sideways from the first title.
Nightreign Network Test Isn't On PC
There Haven’t Been Mentions Of Future Tests On The Platform
Even though the playtests for the highly anticipated game are set to start soon, the Nightreign network tests will not occur on PC – at least for now. FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have confirmed that this specific round of tests will only be available on select platforms, which do not include PC. There is a chance, however, that playtests for PC will occur in the future leading up to the release of Elden Ring Nightreign later this year. Even so, PC players should not create hopes for it until an official announcement by either company.

The playtests will allow the developer and the publisher to evaluate the game’s server capacity and how well it performs under a stress test with multiple players accessing the title simultaneously. This is particularly important given the heavy investment in the multiplayer aspect of the game when compared to the original title, which had multiplayer elements but was not designed to be fully playable in groups. Network playtests like this one will allow the companies to make any necessary adjustments ahead of the game’s official arrival to ensure Elden Ring Nightreign has a smooth release once the time comes.
Which Platforms Nightreign's Network Test Is On
Only Two Of The Five Platforms Will Have Tests (For Now)
Although the playtests will not be available on PC for the time being, the current network tests will occur on some of the other platforms on which the game is expected to be released. To be more specific, the Nightreign tests will happen on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, exclusively. These tests will only target the current generation of consoles, even though the game itself is set to be released to the previous generation, composed of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. It’s unsure if Elden Ring Nightreign’s other platforms will also undergo network tests.
The rumors indicate that the game will be officially released at the end of May, during Q2. If this is the case and either FromSoftware or Bandai Namco intends to hold new playtests for the platforms they haven’t included in the upcoming period, the network tests should occur in the months leading up to May. For players with any hope of testing the game on their platform of preference, they will need to wait for official news. The registration period for the upcoming sessions has already concluded, though some players are selling their Elden Ring Nightreign playtest keys.
When Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test Is
The Tests Will Happen In February
The Nightreign tests for a select number of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players will happen from February 14 through February 17. These are closed tests for players who registered for the tests and were selected and, as such, not everyone on these specific platforms will be able to download the test client and play the title ahead of its release. Players who were selected and miss the period will be unable to play Elden Ring Nightreign’s tests.
According to a blog post on the official Bandai Namco website, the playtests will allow players to experience the three-player coop multiplayer mode and go through a cycle of three days and three nights as they face enemies and bosses. The publisher also reveals that the challenges that these groups face will gradually get tougher, too, offering the staple hard-to-beat gameplay challenge from the original game, adapted into Elden Ring Nightreign.
