High Potential Season 1's Most Underrated Character Is The Best Possible Victim In Season 2
The good news is that none of High Potential's main or recurring characters died in season 1; the bad news is that season 2 could easily kill off the show's most underrated and underutilized character. Kaitlin Olson's acclaimed ABC police procedural TV show follows Morgan Gillory, a single mother with three children, who becomes an LAPD consultant due to her HPI (high potential intellectual) status. Morgan has an IQ of over 160 and uses her skills to help the police solve crimes while also attempting to juggle her home life.
High Potential season 2 is expected to premiere in the fall of 2025 as a part of ABC's 2025–2026 TV season lineup.
Aside from Olson's Morgan, the High Potential main cast includes Daniel Sunjata as Karadec, Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz as Oz, and Judy Reyes as Lieutenant Soto. While some of the aforementioned characters get more screen time than others (we need to see more of Daphne and Oz in season 2), one person in High Potential's supporting cast is undoubtedly neglected the most. Unfortunately, as a result, they are most likely to die in season 2.
Ludo Is High Potential Season 1's Most Underrated Character
Taran Killam's Talent Is Being Underused
Ludo, played by Taran Killam, is High Potential's most underrated character. Since he doesn't work with the LAPD, Ludo doesn't get as much screen time in the ABC crime drama TV series compared to others. However, when the show does pay attention to him, Ludo (and the ever-hilarious Killam) more than proves his worth to the show and High Potential's story.
High Potential Cast | Role |
---|---|
Kaitlin Olson | Morgan Gillory |
Daniel Sunjata | Adam Karadec |
Javicia Leslie | Daphne Forrester |
Deniz Akdeniz | Lev "Oz" Ozdil |
Amirah J | Ava Sinquerra |
Matthew Lamb | Elliot Radovic |
Judy Reyes | Selena Soto |
Taran Killam | Ludo Radovic |
JD Pardo | Tom |
Garret Dillahunt | Lieutenant Melon |
Ludo is Morgan's ex and the father of two of her children — Elliot and Chloe. He also helped raise Ava, making him the closest thing to a father figure in the teenager's life. Also, if it weren't for Ludo, Morgan would never have been able to agree to become an LAPD consultant. Ludo is simply High Potential's unsung hero and deserves more attention. However, that may come with its drawbacks following the events of the season 1 finale.

High Potential Season 1 Finale Revealed Why Morgan Didn't Become As Successful Despite Her Intellect
Kaitlin Olson’s High Potential character, Morgan, is a high potential intellectual, but never truly used her high IQ to further herself in her career.
Putting Ludo In Danger Is The Most Compelling High Potential Season 2 "David" Plot
The Kidnapper Is Targeting Morgan
At the end of the High Potential season 1 finale, the kidnapper with a penchant for games purposefully bumped into Morgan in the grocery store parking lot. He (who is referred to as "David") snuck a game with a message into one of her bags. It read, "You're the one, Morgan. We shall play again. Me and you." So, when season 2 premieres, the villain will target Morgan and possibly the people close to her, like Ludo.
Taran Killam's talent could also pull him away to star in another TV show or film, leaving the writers no choice but to kill off his character.
Given Ludo's underrated status, having him be David's next victim would be the best way to give him his time in the spotlight, while also unleashing more conflict and stress onto Morgan. Yes, losing Ludo would be devastating. However, it would also be the perfect opportunity for the show to raise its stakes without taking out a series regular. Taran Killam's talent could also pull him away to star in another TV show or film, leaving the writers no choice but to kill off his character. So, heading into High Potential season 2, viewers should be worried about Ludo.
