Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: New World Quest Images Seem To Prove Popular Sky Theory
A new leak from Genshin Impact 5.5 shows that the new World Quests in the patch may prove and provide more information about a popular fan theory involving the veracity of the sky in Teyvat. The upcoming patch for HoYoverse’s action RPG is promising to be a big one, especially when compared to Version 5.4, which is mostly centered around limited-time events. The Version 5.5 beta tests have revealed several key pieces of information, including details about Varesa and Iansan, both of which are confirmed to be new characters, as well as potential World Quests in Genshin Impact 5.5.
There are a lot of leaks about the next update, including the introduction of a brand-new area within Natlan, the Great Volcano of Tollan. This has yet to be confirmed, but the introduction of the area would also line up with the releases of Varesa and Iansan, members of the Collective of Plenty, a tribe that is expected to be located around the volcanic region. The are even rumors about a new Natlan map feature in Genshin Impact 5.5 that could make exploration more exciting. Furthermore, it’s expected that this new zone will be connected to the rumored World Quests.
Leaked Images From Genshin Impact 5.5 World Quests Show Evidence For A Popular Theory
The Fake Sky Theory Could Gain More Material For Speculation
These new rumored World Quests have had a lot of details revealed, such as important NPCs that could help guide the story, but newer leaks have teased even more events in the missions. According to images provided by an unknown leaker, which were shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit, a portion of the map will have its environment changed with a huge crack in the sky. The leak highlights two screenshots of this alleged crack in the sky, each from a different angle in the rumored new Genshin Impact 5.5 World Quests.

Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: New World Boss Will Require A Specific Team Comp To Face It
Details about a new world boss in Genshin Impact 5.5 have leaked and been shared, providing insight into what team comps will be necessary to use.
The context for this crack in the sky has not been provided, such as how it was created and its location on the Natlan map (or if it will disappear or remain there after the conclusion of the missions). However, despite the absence of more details, the images alone could actually be confirmation of a popular fan theory that claims that the sky in Teyvat is fake, a fabricated illusion by a higher power, which may very well be the Heavenly Principals in Genshin Impact. This has been an ongoing theory, and the leaks add more fuel to the flames.
What The Fake Sky Theory In Genshin Impact Is About
This Is One Of The Oldest Theories In The Game
The fake sky theory was created by fans, who claimed that the world of Teyvat is fabricated. The theory originated from several inconsistencies with the sky’s design, such as the moon’s strange appearance and the awkward position of the stars. This could be a lack of investment in the design of the sky, but there are lore revelations that also help build the theory into something a lot more concrete. The first is that the Abyss may be involved with the sky itself. During the Genshin Impact 5.3 Archon Quests, the sky is occupied with the presence of Ronova.
In the Version 5.1 Archon Quests, the Abyss’ incursion on Natlan also seems to shatter the sky, revealing what may lie beyond the illusion of the fake sky – though it could also be interpreted as a portal into the Abyss.
The theory also revolves around the idea of Celestia’s involvement with the fabricated sky, indicating that it’s maintaining an illusion for the inhabitants of Teyvat. Celestia is a place of power and there aren’t too many details about it, but it could be from where the Heavenly Principles control the world and, in turn, sustain a fake sky. It’s been given to understand that the Heavenly Principles is the game’s true villain rather than the Tsaritsa in Genshin Impact, who seems to be trying to find a way to topple a divine power that is stronger than her own.
For reference, the Tsaritsa is the Cryo Archon and, therefore, considered a god in the world of Teyvat, though the Heavenly Principles is said to be stronger than each of the Archons.
The theory also suggests that the individual gods of Teyvat, also known as the Archons have some part in maintaining the fabricated sky. Most Archons have shown themselves as benevolent allies to the Traveler and each region's peoples, and maintaining a fake sky could be a way of actually protecting Teyvat’s inhabitants from a darker truth, possibly connected to the Abyss that lies just within reach. A lot of this theory is based on speculation, even though Genshin Impact has teased the fake sky on multiple occasions, be it on purpose or accidentally through design choices.
What The Leaked Genshin Impact 5.5 World Quest Images Could Mean For The Game’s Future
What The Crack Means Depends On How It’s Presented In The Quests
As was mentioned, it’s unsure what the crack in the sky, leaked for Version 5.5's World Quests, means. It could represent a temporary illusion related exclusively to the missions themselves or they could be connected to the larger world of Teyvat. It could serve as official confirmation for the fan theory that the sky is fake or simply add more speculation to the existing rumors. Even so, this year is getting more serious when it comes to exploring Teyvat aside from individual nations, so it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if this were related to Celestia in Genshin Impact.

Every Genshin Impact 5.5 Character Confirmed & Leaked (Phase 1 & Phase 2 Banners)
The character banner structure for Genshin Impact 5.5 has leaked, showcasing not only a focus on Plunging Attacks but an anticipated rerun.
For now, both the leak and the fan theory should be taken with a huge grain of salt. The information is still incomplete, and it could even be false. Even if it proves to be true, there isn’t confirmation that the crack could mean anything for the fake sky theory, so expectations should be managed accordingly. However, it’s impossible to see such leaked images and not think about one of Genshin Impact’s oldest and most enticing theories.
