EAC secures 2nd win in NCAA men's volleyball

MANILA – Emilio Aguinaldo College defeated San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 26-24, 25-14, 23-25, 25-18, Friday to gain a share of the lead in the NCAA Season 100 men's volleyball tournament at the San Sebastian College-Recoletos gym.
Frelwin Taculog delivered 22 points and 14 excellent receptions for the Generals, who are tied with defending champion University of Perpetual Help Dalta System at 2-0.
The Altas claimed its second win at the expense of the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers, 25-20, 25-21, 25-19, last Thursday.
Paul Justine Say chipped in 18 points for EAC while skipper Jan Ruther Abor had 17 points and Kenneth Batiancila added seven points, including two blocks and one ace in the one hour and 47-minute match.
Kyle Angelo Villamor finished with 18 points off 15 attacks and three blocks, and 16 excellent receptions for the Stags, who took their second loss after bowing to the Mapua University Cardinals, 25-21, 23-25, 14-25, 14-25, last Feb. 21.
Meanwhile, San Sebastian triumphed over EAC, 25-17, 25-16, 25-13, in the women's division.
Skipper Katherine Santos had 13 points off 10 attacks and three aces in leading the Lady Stags to their second victory.
Divine Roshielle Garcia contributed nine points off six attacks and three aces, Kristine Joy Dionisio had seven points, including two blocks, while Christina Marasigan added six points for San Sebastian, which wrapped up the match after one hour and 12 minutes.
Elizza Mae Alimen and Jamaica Villena scored seven and six points, respectively for the Lady Generals (0-2). (PNA)
