Doctor Odyssey Could Still Solve Its Love Triangle Without A Season 2

With Doctor Odyssey season 2 still unconfirmed, the medical drama could solve its tricky love triangle without the need for a sophomore year. Doctor Odyssey has introduced one of the messiest love triangles in part 1, with Avery, Tristan, and Max. However, shortly after the premiere, Doctor Odyssey also debuted Vivian, a strong contender for Tristan's heart. Within a few episodes, the Doctor Odyssey characters become tangled up in a growing romantic web. As the relationship troubles of the Doctor Odyssey crew seem to be growing, there is still a way to fix it without needing a second season.

The personal stresses for the characters came to a head in the Doctor Odyssey midseason finale, which announced Avery's pregnancy to an unknown father. However, the romantic troubles for the team seem to get worse in part 2, as the Doctor Odyssey midseason trailer reveals that a new doctor is joining the medical crew, acting as a helping hand to the team and an obstacle in Avery's love life. Fortunately, the stressful addition of a new doctor might be the solution to fixing Doctor Odyssey's love triangle in season 1.

Avery Could Decide To Be On Her Own

Avery Would Be Free To Follow Her Own Desires

A major obstacle in Avery's love life has been her desire for polyamorous relationships. In Doctor Odyssey's episode, "Oh, Daddy!", she, Max, and Tristan explored the idea of being a throuple. However, when the morning after created tension between Max and Tristan, the two decided that they were too jealous about the idea of sharing Avery. Choosing to be on her own in Doctor Odyssey part 2 would free Avery from the constraints she would feel in a relationship with either Max or Tristan. She could look for a partner that shares her desires.

If she wants to be with either Max or Tristan, Avery might consider her relationship's circumstances when deciding whether to co-parent, attend medical school, or terminate the pregnancy.

Staying true to her desires and not settling for less would also allow Avery to feel free to choose what works best for her in terms of her pregnancy. Part 1 set up her desire to attend medical school, but Avery's surprise pregnancy in Doctor Odyssey season 1 could put her journey toward medical school on hold. If she wants to be with either Max or Tristan, Avery might consider her relationship's circumstances when deciding whether to co-parent, attend medical school, or terminate the pregnancy.

Tristan And Vivian Could Finally Commit To Each Other

The Couple Has Great Potential

When Vivian was first introduced in Doctor Odyssey, she and Tristan hit it off right away. While their chemistry was great, their casual flirting made it clear that neither one was looking for anything serious. Tristan's continued interest in Avery also signified his desire for a casual relationship because he continued to flirt with other crew members and passengers even though he and Vivian both showed interest in one another. The casual demeanor of their relationship could change in Doctor Odyssey part 2.

Every Doctor Odyssey Romance Ranked

Doctor Odyssey has featured several love triangles and romances in what has been an exciting medical drama. However, only one couple can be the best.

Vivian voiced her interest in Tristan before the Doctor Odyssey midseason finale and told him that she wanted to see where their relationship could go. As such, if Tristan is upfront with Vivian about his situation with Avery and Max, then they have the potential to make it as a couple. It may be awkward, but the conversation could bring the couple closer and actually make them commit to each other. As Doctor Odyssey's best couple, Tristan and Vivian have the potential to go far in their relationship, as long as they are both honest.

Max and Brooke Could Form The First Official The Odyssey Couple

Brooke's Arrival Could Be What Max Has Been Searching For

Among the Doctor Odyssey part 2 trailer reveals was the introduction to Brooke Lane — The Odyssey's newest doctor. The trailer not only showed Brooke working alongside Max and Avery in a tense operation, but it also showed her leaving Max's room in nothing but a towel. Brooke joining the team as the newest love interest might be the best thing for Max. As Avery is not interested in monogamy, but he is, Brooke could be exactly what Max needs if she shares his interests.

Doctor Odyssey part 2 airs on March 6, 2025.

Brooke could also be great for Max because of his desire to settle down. In Doctor Odyssey part 1, Max shared that he has traveled the world but might finally be ready to slow down and settle down with someone. While the implication was that he could share his new dream with Avery, the complications of their relationship could mean that Brooke is his person instead. Doctor Odyssey part 2 could remove Max from the love triangle and save the show without needing a season 2 at all.
