Disney Dreamlight Valley Players Stunned To Learn There's An Easier Way To Fill In Holes

Disney Dreamlight Valley fans have discovered that there's a much quicker way to fill up dug holes, making resetting the ground after a digging rampage much easier. Dreamlight Valley is a cozy life sim starring beloved Disney characters, who can be made into "friends" and follow players around. There are plenty of fun things to do every day in the Valley, but some tasks are a bit more tedious than others.

Redditor oo_nrb shared a screenshot from their game showing five neat rows of at least 300 holes they had dug, explaining that they have a Digging-role villager and they "just want to get them to level 10 already." The large number of holes pictured is apparently enough to get the character from level 7 to 10, but the process of creating them is lengthy and tedious.

The only thing more difficult than making this many holes is covering them back up. Luckily, other fans have come to the player's rescue, sharing one huge trick for quickly filling in dug holes. All players have to do is enter build mode and place a house, a rug, or any other large furniture on the holes to instantly reset them.

There's A Better Way To Fill In Holes In Disney Dreamlight Valley

Many Players Aren't Aware That They Can Fill All The Holes In One Go

Digging holes in Disney Dreamlight Valley is easy enough, but filling them back up requires slightly more finnicky maneuvering. In order to fill a hole back up, players need to use the shovel to select the hole. It's extremely easy to misclick and create a new hole, instead of filling up the old one. Holes will fill up on their own after 48 hours, but until that time passes, they form an eyesore.

Holes count toward the Valley's item limits, which allow for 600 unique items and 3,000 individual items to be placed at any one time.

Luckily, players have discovered that themuch easier and faster way to get rid of the pesky holes is to simply throw a house over them. Placing then removing any furniture, in fact, will have the same effect on the holes, filling them immediately. "This is life changing!" exclaims Reddit user Malificent7276, and user NutellaPC adds "I literally just yelled, 'WHAT?!' out loud by myself in my house." As is evident from the comments, this is news to many players, some of whom have been playing the title for thousands of hours and never knew it.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Characters Can Be Leveled Up In Many Ways

Digging Holes Isn't The Only Way To Level A Digging Character

Players can appoint Valley residents as companions and assign them roles. One of these is the "Digging" role, which is the one that the original poster was attempting to increase. Many helpful comments note that digging is, counter-intuitively, not the fastest way to level up digging companions. Instead, fellow players suggest alternative ways to level Digging role friends even faster. Reddit user redrebelquests says it's more efficient to "mine instead." They note that "it's 40 friendship per hole," compared to "It's 150 per node, if not a mining role."

At the very least, I think the player could put these new holes to good use instead of just filling them in. Planting a high-profit crop like pumpkins into these 300+ holes would be a great way to cash in on them instead of just wiping out all the hard work. Disney Dreamlight Valley has many different ways to approach the game, whether the player decides to use the holes as a garden or fill them in by plopping a house on top of them.
