Detailed Stardew Valley Mod Allows Players To Finally Marry The Most Mysterious NPC

Stardew Valleyis already filled with eligible singles but players wanting to pursue a relationship with the game's most enigmatic bachelor will need this mod. While most of Pelican Town's residents offer the kind of friendly companionship one expects from the cozy farming RPG, one person's goals are more mysterious. Mr. Qi is an odd individual who seems eager to push players to their limits, and while that may not be what everyone wants in a spouse, he's managed to develop quite the fanbase.

Over on Nexus Mods, creator AngelOfStars shared their appropriately titled "Friendable Mr. Qi" mod that does exactly what one might expect. The add-on fleshes out the mysterious character, allowing players the chance to befriend him and potentially marry him; the add-on includes over 808 new lines of dialogue, many of which can be experienced through Mr. Qi's 22 Heart Events. That may be enough to tempt players, but the mod goes beyond Mr. Qi's character to further cement him as a core part of the game.

It Adds Plenty More Content

Aside from turning Mr. Qi into a potential love interest, AngelOfStars' mod also adds a plethora of extras to help players enjoy their life with the wide-brim hat enthusiast. The mod also includes three new crops, new cooking and crafting recipes, additional end-game weapons, a new shop, two extra locations, and even a set of unique quests and special orders, three of which are repeatable. It's an ambitious release, one that will likely take users hours to fully explore.

As with all fan-made add-ons, "Friendable Mr. Qi" isn't canon to ConcernedApe's vision for Stardew Valley, but for players who are drawn to the enigmatic character, it's a breath of fresh air. AngelOfStars does quip that while the mod does turn Mr. Qi into a romance option, it doesn't "make (him) a redeemable person." While that may not be a great foundation upon which to build a marriage, at least fans know that his character hasn't been changed too much.

I may not be interested in Mr. Qi as a character but even I appreciate the sheer amount of effort AngelOfStars has put into their Stardew Valleymod. ConcernedApe has done a stellar job of supporting his Farming RPG over the years but the community's passion for creating more content has no doubt aided in keeping the game relevant. I adore the Stardew Valley modding scene and I'm always excited to see what it makes next.
