The narrative of the series' time skip picks up three years after Boruto Uzumaki is labeled a traitor due to Eida's powers that alter reality. He makes a dramatic entrance during an assault on Konoha by Code and his followers, and while he manages to tackle the immediate danger, Boruto's objective extends as he aims to eradicate an even greater disaster looming over the world. With destiny resting on him and his own people turning against him, the story of Boruto as he fights with determination is becoming increasingly intense.

What Happened In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #18?
The Mission Takes A Turn For The Worse
Sumire walks into Amado's lab to find him being pressed on the wall by Kawaki, who is demanding the limiters on his power be removed, teasing a big powerup for Kawaki. Amado manages to utter the shutdown command, putting Kawaki to sleep. The scene switches to the Land of the Wind, where Ryu is introduced to Yodo and Araya. He noticed that Yodo was glaring at him very intently. Meanwhile, Matsuri was getting more and more comfortable around Konohamaru and even asked him if she could call him Konohamaru-chan, a term of endearment.
Ryu activates his Iron Sand, used for detection, to search for Boruto, but he notices the bloodlust coming from Yodo and confronts her about it. Mitsuki manages to change the discussion about why they were looking for Boruto, and Ryu answers vaguely. Back in Konoha, Kawaki wakes up and he and Amado finally talk. He acknowledges the threat posed by the new God Trees and agrees to boost his offensive power to the maximum on the condition that he implants a copy of Karma onto a clone of Akebi so he can resurrect her.
Kawaki refuses Amado's request because Akebi might become an Otsutsuki, which is his sworn enemy. However, he agrees to consider the request once he has powered up and eliminated all his enemies. If Akebi does come back as an Otsutsuki, he vows to kill her without hesitation. Meanwhile, in the Land of Wind, Konohamaru feels uncomfortable around Matsuri because she resembles Moegi. Matsuri notices that he is thinking about Moegi and becomes angry, questioning who Moegi is to him.
Ryu decides to remove his Thorn Soul Bulb to use it as bait for Boruto, suspecting he might be nearby. Once he takes it out, he lets the bulb float in the air. Unable to resist, Yodo jumps to snatch the bulb away, but it turns out that this wasn't bait for Boruto; it was meant for them instead. Realizing they are enemies, Ryu uses his Sand to manipulate Sarada and Yodo's bodies, trying to force them to kill each other. Fortunately, Araya swoops in and neutralizes Ryu's Iron Sand with the Sand Sealing Blade he crafted together with Shinki.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex's First Major Fight Is Here
While there were some exciting showdowns like Boruto and Sarada vs Jura, Boruto vs Code, and Himawari vs Jura, they were all short-lived and didn't last very long. This fight, however, has the potential to go on for quite a bit given how even it is. While Ryu is clearly much stronger, Araya has demonstrated that he is competent and has the ability to make his Iron Sand useless. Sarada is also powerful and smart, and Mitsuki has his Sage Mode. Yodo is the only unknown in this equation, but even then, the group can give Ryu a run for his money.

As a Naruto Fan, I'll Say It: Boruto Gets Way More Hate Than It Deserves
It is time for Naruto fans to admit that the Boruto series, despite its flaws, never deserved the amount of hate it received.
The sneak peek reveals that there will be a flashback featuring Shinki, Araya, and Yodo. This indicates that the chapter will focus on their dynamic and relationship. In addition to what could be an exciting fight, fans can also look forward to Boruto: Two Blue Vortex highlighting the side characters. This approach aims to increase the stakes of the battle by creating a stronger connection between the readers and these characters.
