Avengers: Secret Wars Gets Major Filming Update From Anthony Mackie

In a new interview with Deadline, Captain America: Brave New World star Anthony Mackie teased what is coming up for Sam Wilson after his solo movie debuts later this week. While confirming that he will be filming Avengers: Doomsday through the summer, Mackie also confirmed that Avengers: Secret Wars will be starting principal photography in 2026, sharing the following:
We shoot in London through the summer and then the following summer we shoot the next one [Avengers: Secret Wars]. It’s going to be a full slate.
What Anthony Mackie's Avengers: Secret Wars Update Means For The Phase 6 Movie
When it was revealed that Anthony and Joe Russo, who helmed Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, had been tapped to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, many assumed the two Phase 6 films would be shot back-to-back. However, with Mackie's confirmation that the two movies will be filmed separately, it puts that theory to rest. However, it also indicates that Marvel Studios are taking the same approach that they did with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which worked very much in their favor.
