Atom Eve's Invincible Inc. Sets Up Bulletproof Replacing Invincible In Prime Video's Future Seasons

Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Invincible season 3, episodes 1-5, and the Invincible comic series.Invincible season 3 has finally introduced Invincible Inc. and the superhero organization sets up a future storyline involving Bulletproof replacing the protagonist. Throughout the show's three seasons, Invincible's Guardians of the Globe has been given a lot of attention, with several members becoming crucial parts of the overall story. However, Bulletproof has been kept predominantly in the background, but the introduction of Invincible Inc. looks set to make him more important than ever. His time in the spotlight may not come right away, but the underrated superhero's chance to shine feels closer than ever after season 3, episode 5.

"This Was Supposed To Be Easy" centered around Mister Liu and Titan's conflict, culminating in the fight that saw Multi-Paul escape prison in season 3. Liu's fight wasn't with Titan though, as he faced off against Mark and Eve after they dedicated themselves to protecting the GDA jail as part of Invincible Inc. Eve set up the superhero service as a way for her and Mark to earn money while they attempted to afford their own place, and while the new business may seem like a simple one-off for the Liu battle, the comics suggest Invincible Inc. will stick around.

Invincible Inc. In Season 3 Is The Start Of A Larger Story

Atom Eve's New Company Isn't Just A One-Off

Rather than being a short-term attempt to make money that ultimately fails, Invincible Inc. is part of a much larger story as the private security firm remains a running part of the comics. Even though the GDA penitentiary was destroyed, and some prisoners managed to escape, Eve was able to rebuild the structure, leaving her employers satisfied. While it's unclear how big a part of the show Mark and Eve's superhero business will become, it provides them a steady source of income in the comics and allows them to use their powers for good, all while getting paid.

Invincible Inc. also sets up further villain appearances with Mark and Eve being tasked to fend off both major and minor threats. With Invincible season 3 already teasing future villains alongside reestablishing some old threats, it's clear the Viltrumites aren't Earth's only problem, furthering the need for a superhero security firm. In addition to being Mark and Eve's main occupation, Invincible. Inc also hints at another key storyline regarding Bulletproof, as the former Guardians of the Globe member will get a chance to step up and fill in for the protagonist at some point in the future.

Bulletproof Temporarily Replaces Invincible In The Comics

In Mark's Absence, Bulletproof Steps Up To Take The Mantel Of Invincible Temporarily

Although the events of the show and comics have happened in a slightly different order, many of the main storylines have stayed the same, suggesting Bulletproof's big comic arc could happen down the line. In the source material, Mark temporarily leaves Earth, making the planet more vulnerable without one of its most powerful defenders, and his absence also leaves Invincible Inc. short-staffed, with Eve asking Bulletproof to help fill in. Rather than using his own superhero alias, Bulletproof wears the Invincible costume and acts as Mark's true replacement during this time in what is one of his biggest character arcs.

What Happens To The Guardians Of The Globe After Breaking Up In Invincible Season 3 (Do They Get Back Together?)

The Guardians of the Galaxy go through a pretty bad split in Invincible season 3, setting up two competing superhero teams that could reunite.

During his time as Invincible, Bulletproof faced threats such as The Walking Dread and Dinosaurus, showing how much he embraced the role. Unfortunately, he took his position as the protagonist's replacement too literally, jeopardizing Mark and Eve's Invincible romance by making a move on her as he felt she needed comforting. How much of this story will be adapted into the show remains to be seen, as Bulletproof is much more flawed in the comics than he is currently in season 3, but Invincible Inc.'s Prime Video appearance suggests his divisive storyline will happen sooner or later.

Invincible Inc. Has A Parallel In The DC Universe

Mark and Eve aren't the only superheroes who have tried to use their crime-fighting skills as part of a legal business, as Bruce Wayne did the same during the Batman Incorporated run. Much like Invincible Inc., Batman Incorporated was designed to help tackle illegal activities, as Bruce hired heroes and vigilantes who reported to the Caped Crusader directly. The comic series certainly offered a new take on the iconic hero, as despite Batman being one of the most iconic crime fighters of all time, having Bruce Wayne associate so closely with Batman publicly is something we rarely see in DC.

Batman Incorporated had a fairly mixed reception among fans, mainly because it provided such a different take on the Dark Knight than many are used to. Still, the concept of Batman having his own team of specially trained heroes is exciting. Unfortunately, The Invincible Inc. arc was also relatively divisive for fans of the comic series, as some readers questioned the need for its existence in the first place. Regardless, Prime Video's version of Invincible will continue this trend of legal superhero work designed to help the public, and hopefully, the animated show can maximize the concept's full potential.
